Q: Does your
training also include men or is it for women only?
- A: Men are welcome
to attend any and all of our trainings. Situational Awareness, the core of what
we teach, was developed by the military and law enforcement and applies to all
of us.
Q: Are you
available to speak at business functions, luncheons and other venues?
- A: Yes. We have
several customized presentations ranging from 15 – 45 minutes that address a
variety of topics. These presentations include a dynamic slide show and leave
the audience with actionable information.
Q: Do you have a class for teenagers, both male and female?
- A: Yes. We have a Teen Safety class that can be found under
Training.
Q: Do your classes
include martial arts and self defense moves?
- A: Only if
specifically requested, a limited number of focused techniques that rely on
speed, surprise and the principals of leverage, not strength will be
demonstrated.
Q: Where do you
conduct your trainings?
- A: At the venue of
our client’s choice.
Q: Can I set up a private Mom Daughter or Teens class and bring you in to teach
it?
- A: Yes. If you want
to set up your own class contact us and we will send you a list to guide you
through the process in addition to the class description you can use in your
promotional materials.
Q: Do you customize classes or is your training
all standardized?
- A: Most of our training is customized to cater to
our client’s specific need.
Q: What is the
significance of role playing and simulation and why do you place so much
emphasis on this?
- A: It is well
understood that even the most mundane tasks become difficult to do when we are
scared or under extreme stress. Adrenaline puts us into “fight or flight” mode
but also tends to rob us of our ability to think clearly. Simulation and role
playing reinforces muscle memory, giving us the best chance of reflexively
defaulting to key skills when they are most needed and there is no time to
think.
Q: Why do you put
so much emphasis on mothers attending trainings with their daughters when you
don’t charge for the mom to attend?
- A: Anytime there is
an ongoing dialog regarding information that is common to two or more people
there is better retention and a greater probability that learned skills will
actually be implemented. We also teach exercises to improve awareness of our
surroundings which are more fun to do with someone who learned them who you
than alone.
Q: Do you also teach Internet safety to younger children?
- A: Yes. This module reinforces that conversation and a
healthy relationship between children and their parents is the best safety
strategy with regard to the Internet, not technology. We also strive to
increase children’s awareness of the transparency of Cyberspace and that their
“group” of friends is often much larger than they realize, and my include
predators masquerading as friends.
Q: Do you sell safety products or books?
- A: No. We do however demonstrate and / or discuss
various safety products such as personal alarms, flashlights, and wireless alarm
systems during our trainings. We also recommend several books that we feel are
excellent resources.
Q: Do you have a class that address bullying?
A: No. We do however, highly recommend that you check out an excellent resource on this troublesome topic from a company called DontBullyMyKids.com that is available in DVD format.
Q: What is your privacy policy for your website?
- A: You may find our privacy policy as well as other legal and disclaimers here.
